This project presents the development of a compact, cost-effective Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) based on the ESP32 microcontroller, designed on a custom PCB. The system integrates native support for the MQTT protocol, enabling efficient communication within Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) environments. Leveraging the OpenPLC suite, the PLC supports ladder diagram programming, making it compatible with traditional industrial automation workflows. This open-source solution aims to bridge the gap between low-cost hardware and modern automation requirements, providing a flexible platform for education, prototyping, and scalable deployment in smart industry applications.
