Faculty Positions

Faculty Positions

The Applied Physics Department is expanding and invites applicants for multiple junior (tenure-track) and senior (tenured) faculty positions in the broadly defined fields encapsulated by electrical/electronic engineering and applied science. The department is especially interested, but not limited, in candidates investigating (i) electron devices and circuits (including VLSI design and architecture), (ii) devices and systems for quantum computing, information and sensing, (iii) energy conversion, harvesting, and storage, and (iv) RF, electromagnetics and 5G communications. Priority, however, will be given to the overall originality and promise of the candidate’s work over any specific area of specialization.

Successful candidates will be expected to establish and sustain an outstanding research program and must have excellent ability to teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Successful candidates will have a relevant doctorate or equivalent experience and an outstanding record of achievement and impactful research (in academic, industry and/or at national laboratories). The department encourages women and underrepresented minority candidates to apply.

Applications should be written in English and include the following:

  1.        Curriculum Vitae
  2.        List of Publications
  3.        Statement of research and teaching interests
  4.        Copies of 1-3 representative papers
  5.        Names and contact details of three references (preferably, full professors with whom there has been no previous collaboration, from non-associated institutes)
  6.        Recommendation letters from advisors (Ph.D. and postdoctoral) to be sent directly to the Faculty Search Committee (email or hard copy)

Applications and reference letters may be submitted in the online link: http://ttp.huji.ac.il . (Please select academic position under 'The Faculty of Science' and choose the Department of Applied Physics for starting the application process).

Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit their application before November 3, 2019, which is when the department hiring discussions are scheduled to begin. Applications will be accepted until the November 30, 2019.  Candidates who pass the first review will be invited to the department to give a seminar (a.k.a. "job talk") and meet with the department members.
